Webmasters Note: We are currently having problems with our mailing list
software. I will have to split this latest news update into two mailings.
Please bear with us as we get these minor problems worked out,

Begin Part 2:

ARP race teams and drivers,

Good day! I have a few notes of interest for you all

3. BOX STOCK PROJECT (BSP) CLASSES: I received a BSP engine yesterday and
will (hopefully) be finalizing the class rules later this week. This
engine will be instrumental in building our kart count and introducing new
people to the sport. With nothing more than a restrictor plate, it can
used as a Novice class engine. I expect this class will take off as I have
had a great amount of interest in it. And if you were wondering, it looks
a lot like an Animal engine. ________________________________

4. SPECTATOR AREA: I am going to Alabama on January 17 to pick up a 6’
tall chain link fence. What does this mean to you? This fence will be
erected from between the two concession stand windows (the left window
will serve the pit area and the right window will serve the spectators)
straight out to the grass’ edge. It will go the right and follow the grass
edge around to the guard rail that separates the grass parking lot and the
pit area. The fence will continue up the hill to the entrance sign. A
small ticket building will be erected at the entrance to the spectator
parking lot and spectators may pay as they enter. The cost for spectators
will be $5 ages 13 and up and free for spectators 12 and under. I hope
this will bring in more family, friends, and sponsors to the track because
in the past, the cost to allow spectators in was so high that we had
virtually no spectator base – so let’s change that. When spectators drive
into the parking area, they may buy a ticket to enter either the pits or
spectator area. Spectators will have access to the concession stand,
bathrooms, end of the frontstretch stands and turn one stands. If you have
a wristband, you may travel back and forth between the spectator and pit
area via a gate that will be erected between the tower and concessions
building. Spectators do not have a wristband and may not enter the pit
area until after the last event of the evening has been completed (due to
insurance compliance).

The spectator area will hopefully bring more aunts, uncles, friends,
grandparents, etc., to the track to cheer on your driver. We hope that it
will also bring more people to the races that are interested in the sport.
BUT the completion of this project depends on funds the track has to erect
the fence (posts, rails, and concrete). We’re hoping to have this in place
before the season begins.

That’s about it for right now. As always, if you have questions or
comments, email me: frank.ashe at atoka-raceway-park.com, and I’ll get back
with you.

Thank you.

-Frank Ashe
