ARP race teams and drivers,

This weekend marks our first Track Day (cleanup and preparation) for the
2010 season. Now that we’ve gotten past the Arctic Blast that left me
sitting high in a tree shivering during the last few days of deer season,
I can say 48 degrees will be nice working weather.

We have a bit of work to do and the fun begins Saturday morning at 9:00am.

Here’s what we’re going to concentrate on this weekend:

-- Trash cans are full from last season and they need to go to the dump. I
have a Tipton County landfill permit and if anyone else has one that can
help ferry those cans back and forth that would be a big help.

-- Weeds have taken over the guardrails and there is no place for weeds on
a track. We need to clear both the front and the back of the guardrails so
we’ll need weedeaters and operators. This will give the painter a clear
shot at the guardrails when they paint in the next few weeks.

-- Grass is dead but high and we need to cut it down in some places. Push
or riding lawn mowers would be great to have. (Someone is going to
challenge someone and I can see a few riding lawnmowers on the track later
in the day – we are racers, after all.)

-- There is trash in buildings, around the facility, and under stands that
need to be picked up. Our younger drivers would be perfect to tackle this
one!

-- We need to powerwash the buildings and walkways but our water and
electricity is off right now. If you have the means to powerwash and can
do it that would be awesome!

There is plenty more to do and this will be a great start. If you can come
and help out, it would be greatly appreciated.

IMPORTANT: We can get some of the paperwork out of the way for the 2010
season on Saturday. Even if you only have a few minutes to stop by, we can
take care of Junior driver’s Age Verification (proof of birth is required-
we don’t want any copies, only to see it) and Registration cards. If you
want to reserve or pay for pit spots, you can do that, too.

I am bringing a Box Stock Project (BSP) engine for folks to “ooh and ahh”
over so if you want to take a look, come on out.

As usual, if you have comments/questions, email me at
frank.ashe at atoka-raceway-park.com and I’ll get back with you.

Thank you.

-Frank

PS - Coffee and donuts on Saturday - did I mention that?
