ARP race teams and drivers,

We had our first Track Day of the season today (Saturday, January 16th)
and we had a great turnout and got a lot of work done.

We had about 20 people show up with weed eaters, chainsaws, lawnmowers,
generators and trailers. We cut a lot of grass, removed rotten wood from
the grandstands (still a lot to go!), did some weed eating around the
guardrails, stands and buildings, picked up trash and emptied trash cans.
We cleared the infield of trash and surveyed areas we need to tear down
and rebuild. The track took a turn for the better as we look at 2010 and
when we race on March 6th, I expect the track to be in the best condition
it’s been in years.

I’d like to thank all of you who came out today and I’d name everyone by
name but I’d miss someone and I don’t want to do that. We took a photo of
those present and we’ll post it in a future email.

Other items addressed today: Registration Cards and Age Verification Cards
filled out, a showing and explanation of the Box Stock Project engine, pit
spot reservations and payments – and we talked racing, too.

Our next Track Day will be 9:00am on Saturday, January 23rd and we’ll let
everyone know what we’ll be concentrating on as we get closer.

greatly appreciated! I hope to see more folks at the track next week.
