ARP Teams and Drivers,

We’re getting closer to the first race of the season. Let’s hope the
weather turns better for us.

I wanted to let you know where we stand on the final rules, schedule, etc.
As of today, we are in the final stages of completing the 2010 Rule Book.
The rule book will be a one-stop publication that can be easily printed
and put in a tool box. It will contain track rules, procedures, class
structure, schedule, AKRA Box Stock Project class rules, and
practice/qualifying/heat/race order.

There are a couple of things of interest I’d like to touch on...

2010 WKA Technical Manual
This is something every team should have – the WKA rule book. If you’re
new to racing you’ll learn a lot about the sport reading through this
manual. Don’t rely on ARP rules alone – there’s a lot more to know. You
can order the Tech Manual at:

Box Stock Project engines
We’ve already had several people interested in this new class and engines
have been bought and are ready to go. The cost is a big part of it and
it’s easy to understand why. The engine operates on 89 octane gasoline and
if the octane is boosted, the engine runs rough – not better. Because it
runs on pump gas, the fuel acts as a lubricant (unlike methanol) and that
in turn allows the engine components to last longer – less rebuilds. In
fact, it may be cheaper to buy a new engine (minus the add-ons because you
already have them!) at $129.99. I’ve done a bit of research and found BSP
engines and parts at ARC Racing. I’ve linked a few of the high-interest
parts below.

If you’re a mustang – build the BSP engine yourself. The kit is $219.99
and there’s even a video on YouTube that walks you through the build-up.
It’s a little over an hour long but will carry you through the steps to
build your engine to AKRA specs – the rules we’ll be using for the BSP
class at ARP. The web address for that video is:

way in the next few days as we close in on the season.

As always, if you have question, comments, or whatever, email me at
Frank.Ashe at Atoka-Raceway-Park.com and I’ll get back with you.

Thank you. We’re looking forward to racing in the next couple of weeks.
