ARP Teams and Drivers,
We had a great weekend of racing to kick off 2010! Thanks to everyone for
coming!
We had perfect weather, a fast racetrack, tough competition, and the day
wound down with the Junior 2 class completing post-race tech. We finished
up and rolled out of the track before 5:30pm.
There were a few new players in the staff and things ran smoothly. We had
a few hiccups (all minor) but were looking at ways to streamline the
process.
Just a couple of things for everyone: 1. Rule Book. Please download and
print the rule book and take the time to get familiar with the rules. Here
is the link: http://atoka-raceway-park.com/2010RuleBook.pdf
2. Safety Technical Inspection. Found on page 6 in the ARP Rule Book,
please take special note of the pre-race safety tech and make sure your
kart conforms to the check list before you get to the track. Remember,
safety tech inspection MUST be performed before a kart is allowed on the
track. If the kart is not safe and scoreable, it wont pass pre-race tech.
IMPORTANT: All weights must be painted white with the number of the kart
on the lead the number on the lead MUST match the number on the kart.
Why is lead painted white? So it can be seen by drivers on the track in
the event a piece comes off and can be avoided.
I wanted to say thank you to everyone for keeping the pits so clean. The
after-race clean up on Sunday was minimal and we greatly appreciate your
support!
This Saturday (March 13th) is the first Mid-South Maxxis National
Qualifier (MSMNQ) point race. The MSMNQ series is a series within the ARP
regular point series. The point structure (page 14 in the ARP Rule Book)
will remain the same as any regular point race at ARP. Heres the
difference: For the five MSMNQ races, drivers competing in those five
races will gather points for both the track point series and the MSMNQ
series. After the five-race MSMNQ series races are completed, the top-five
point finishers in that series will earn an invitation to the prestigious
Maxxis National Championship race in Neeces, SC in October. The National
Championships is an invitation-ONLY event and the MSMNQ series at ARP is
one way to get there. Once there, you will compete against some of the
biggest names in kart racing. Its a first at ARP and a great opportunity
for our racers!
And as always, if you have question, comments, or whatever, email me at
Frank.Ashe at Atoka-Raceway-Park.com and Ill get back with you.
Keepin' it Safe and Fair.
Thank you.
-Frank Ashe
