ARP Racers and Fans.
First off let me say a huge thank you to everyone who came out this past
weekend to enjoy our races. We had a good kart turnout and a GREAT
spectator turnout. It was good to see a lot of new faces as well as a lot
of our regular racers and teams.
I want to speak a few words about something we heard about during this
race. It was told to us by a very good source that some unhappy
individuals were talking a lot in the pits concerning the difficulty they
had in trying to contact, and or approach Frank AND/OR me concerning track
related topics, or just general information seeking they were attempting
to do. They made it very clear we were, as they said, "very
unapproachable".
Since I have been working there since 1999, I don't stand much to lose so
I will just say this: "Thats Freakin' Hilarious, and VERY Absurd".
First off, neither I OR Frank EVER refuses to answer an E-Mail from
ANYONE. If you have/had or whatever a problem, one of the best ways to
"approach" us is through an email if its not on race day. Plus Frank has a
cell phone and I don't, so there is at least that way to contact him, AND
as far as I know he has never refused a call either.
So that takes us to the possible "approaching" on race day.
Up till now, Frank does all the Safety Tech; or most of it, so that is an
excellent time to ask a question or at least make a time suggestion when
you two can talk. Frank does the track surface prep basically all by
himself, which means he is out at the track a few nights prior to each
race; so why don't you go out then and ask your questions? He is at the
track early on race days to water, work in, water again, and do all the
track prep for the race. Many minutes prior to gate opening he is there
and he would possibly be able to talk then. But as practice time
approaches, so does his pace and his importance of monitoring actions for
the rest of the racing day. So for about four to five hours on race day,
you may be right, he is NOT "Approachable"; rather he is very busy putting
on the race, for not only the racers, but everyone else in attendance. If
we race twice a month, I only see about 8-10 hours total that he is awake
that he is not "approachable".
On race day starting one hour before gates open I get busy, VERY busy. I
make sure all the pre-race stuff is done and ready to move forward
concerning registration, scoring, announcing, displays, radios,
transponders, and numerous other menial tasks that make it seem like
things are going smoothly, when in fact sometimes they are not, but you
usually don't see that. My work use to be done by three different people;
but those days are gone; maybe I was more approachable back then, not
sure; but I do know one thing, on race day, I am stretched at my tightest
most of the time.
Frank needs more help in what he does; I know. Jason and I use to do what
he does now alone and race fans, it was a nightmare when two people did
it. But we did it, and Frank does it because he loves this sport, and
wants it to thrive and prosper with every ounce of energy he has. ON race
day, it is VERY difficult to hold a general BS session.
Is everything perfect? No; But if you see an imperfection, or just want to
"approach and talk"; the accountability is on your shoulders, not Franks
nor mine, because both of us will reply quickly and promptly; IF,
"Approached" correctly!!!
Our email are all over the website but listed primarily on the contact page:

Thank You For Your Support As Always,
Approachably Yours,
